Case Study: Fire Compliance Upgrades at Wallington County Grammar School

Wallington County Grammar School required a comprehensive upgrade to its fire compliance infrastructure across the entire site. Our team led the fire safety improvements, focusing on replacing non-compliant elements and working towards the building complying with modern fire regulations.

  • On-site quality monitoring and reporting 
  • Contract administration and Employers Agent duties. 
  • Snagging and Compliance sign-off  


Scope of Works Completed
 

  • Replacement of 102 fire doors with certified FD30 and FD60 rated units 
  • Replacement of 714m² of non-fire-rated ceilings with compliant fire-rated ceiling systems 
  • Replacement of 21m2 of non fire rated glazed screens with 30min fire rated safety glass 
  • Fire stopping and compartmentation works to improve fire protection 
  • Installation of new fire exit doors to ensure compliant and safe egress routes 
  • Upgrade of the fire alarm detection system to L2 standard 
  • Installation of additional emergency lighting 
  • Installation of new fire exit signage throughout the premises 
  • Installation of contrast noising

Results & Outcomes 

  • Project completed on schedule and within budget without disruption to running of the school.  
  • Full compliance with fire safety regulations achieved 
  • Significant improvement to life safety standards across the school estate
